Given the increased demand for flexible workstations, Ergotron, Inc., the global leader in the sit–stand workplace revolution, has enhanced its popular WorkFit–D standalone desk to better meet the needs of its users. The updated WorkFit–DL Sit–Stand Desk features two new worksurface sizes and enhanced design features for a sleeker, more refined finish for the modern office.
Recent research from Ergotron revealed that a majority of office workers are looking for more flexible workstations, with 84 percent of full–time employees indicating they would prefer to sit and stand at will while at work. The WorkFit–DL Sit–Stand Desk meets the needs of these employees who are looking to integrate healthy behavior and more movement throughout their day.
Originally launched in 2011, the third–generation design update includes several new features, such as two worksurface size options – 60" x 29" (152.4 x 73.6 cm) and 48" x 29" (121 x 73 cm) –with waterfall edges for extra comfort against forearms and wrists while computing. The silver satin base includes a 6.5" high (16.5 cm) cable tray deep enough to hold power bricks and cord bundles, and complements the available worksurface finish colors (Black, Maple or Wenge/Walnut). With the use of Ergotron’s patented Constant Force motion technology, the desk can easily adjust to either a standing or sitting position by the simple release of a hand–brake – no tools are needed for the adjustment.
"While electric height adjustable desks are widely available, we find that users aren’t adjusting them frequently because of the 15-20 seconds it takes to move from seated to standing positions," said Pete Segar, Ergotron CEO. "With Ergotron's Constant Force™ technology lift mechanism, we give users a far faster and easier way to instantly change positions as needed. This is better for their physical comfort and will not disrupt their work."
The WorkFit–DL desk is assembled at Ergotron’s manufacturing plant in Tualatin, Oregon, and is TAA (Trade Agreements Act) compliant, as well as designed and tested to applicable ANSI/BIFMA X5.5-2008 standards. It will be available in early January as built–to–order and will typically ship within seven to 10 days after receipt of order. Visit Ergotron.com to find more information or call 800-888-8458.
